One look at the Microsoft community page reveals that even when the company answers questions about the suite, it is up to the combined efforts of the client company and Microsoft to come up with a solution. Here are some of the steps that you can take if you are experiencing a slowdown in your Office 365 productivity.
First of all, make sure that your individual computers are not overworked for some reason. You will need a network that is balanced in its bandwidth use, because a single computer can slow down the entire functionality of the Office 365 suite. One of the easiest ways to ensure that the problem does not lie in your hardware is to clear the cache.
Office 365 has been known to function quite differently in different browser environments as well, so use the following tips for each browser.
If You Are Using Google Chrome
Clear the cache by clicking on the Google Chrome menu (the three horizontal lines that are in the top right of your browser screen). From the menu that pulls down, select “More Tools”; then select “Clear browsing data.” This will open up an additional pop-up that you can use to customize your options in case you do not want to delete all of your information.
You can also press “Ctrl-Shift-Delete” if you are looking for a shortcut to clear the cache in Google Chrome.
If You Are Using Firefox
Although Firefox and Google Chrome are hugely different browsers, the same shortcut will work to clear the cache — Ctrl-Shift-Delete. This opens the “Clear Recent History” dialog box. Make sure that the box next to “Cache” is checked. Click “Clear Now” to set your computer straight.
If the above method does not work, then you can try this method:
Open the dialog box named “Options.” The three horizontal lines at the top right of the screen will get you there and so will pressing the “Alt” button. From here, cover the “Advanced” menu option, and select the tab called “Network.” You will see two separate listings called “Offline Web Content and User Data” and “Cached Web Content.” Click “Clear now,” and execute the selection.
If You Are Using Internet Explorer
You can open the “Delete Browsing History” box by pressing Ctrl-Shift-Delete in Internet Explorer, or you can click on the gear that is in the upper-right corner of the browser. You will see a listing called “Safety” and “Delete browsing history.” The pop-up menu will show up. Make sure that you do not check the box that says “Preserve Favorites website data,” and make sure that the “Temporary Internet files and website files” is checked off. Click the “Delete” button at the bottom of the menu, and your cache should clear.
